School of Architecture, Planning & Design at the DIT University completed 15 yrs in 2020. School helps the students to develop creative confidence with the courage to take creative risks and the knowledge and skills to discern the lasting value of such ideas. We wish to develop skilled professionals who design built environments that are ecologically sustainable and resilient; prosperous and fair; healthy and aesthetic. The Institute, situated in the lap of nature, aspires to associate proactively with the objective of sustainable and appropriate architecture.
DIT University is a premier Institute of Higher Learning in the wide areas of Science, Engineering, Technology and Management. Over a long & proud history, we have pushed the limits of knowledge & innovation, and carved a niche in Technical Education with emphasis on quality through up to date curriculum and lecture delivery methods supported by Strong Laboratory components. The Institute created a space for itself not only in Northern states but at all India level. At present, DITU Alumni are brand ambassadors of the Institute and are respected in all service sectors. Dehradun is one of the oldest cities in India. In the Vedic times, the Garhwal Mandal, of which Dehradun is a part, was known as the Kedar Khand. Legend has it that Guru Dronacharaya, a Brahmin teacher of warfare, considered Dehradun a place fit for meditation & worship and therefore, the valley of Doon was christened Drona Ashram, which means “The Abode of Drona”.
Dehradun is situated in the North Indian state of Uttarakhand (formerly Uttar Pradesh) around 235 km from Delhi. Dehradun extends from the latitude 30° 19’ in the North to longitude 78° 04’ in the East. The City of Dehradun is well connected to other cities of North India by rail, road, and air.
Due to its location in the hilly part of the state, the climate of Dehradun is salubrious. During the summer months, the temperature ranges between 36°C and 16.7° C. The winter months are colder with the maximum and minimum temperatures touching 23.4°C and 5.2° C respectively.
A picturesque gateway to a number of hill stations, Dehradun has fervency in its embrace, magnificence in the sights extant within the city. Encompassed in greenery, Dehradun is home to notable sights like the resplendent Sahastradhara, the intriguing Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple and the mystical Robber’s Cave, among others. The natural landscape of the place is also the setting for lively picnic spots and places that offer a raft of adventure activities. Dehradun is the gateway to the famous hill station of Mussoorie and the pilgrimage spots of Haridwar and Rishikesh.
